Grayson G. Russell

Owner, CEO and Deal Counsel

Grayson is the CEO and General Counsel of Standard Title, which he acquired in the spring of 2017. He also serves as In-House Counsel for York Standard AMC, a joint venture with Raleigh-based York Properties. Grayson brings over two decades of legal and commercial real estate experience to his leadership roles, blending deep industry knowledge with a practical, entrepreneurial mindset.

Before acquiring Standard Title, Grayson founded and led the Raleigh law firm Morris, Russell, Eagle & Worley, PLLC (now Longleaf Law Partners), where he managed a team of attorneys and paralegals focused on commercial real estate transactions. His clients included many of Southeast’s leading developers, lenders, and homebuilders, with his practice spanning acquisition, financing (including complex debt and equity structures), development, leasing, and disposition across all major asset classes.

Grayson’s legal background is complemented by his experience as a licensed commercial real estate broker with Trademark Property Company, a premier retail development firm based in Fort Worth, Texas. He continues to maintain his broker’s license in North Carolina.

At Standard Title, Grayson has led a talented team of title attorneys and commercial underwriters underwriting and insuring over a billion dollars of commercial transactions each year.

A graduate of Woodberry Forest School, North Carolina State University (B.A., Political Science), and Campbell University School of Law, Grayson is licensed to practice law in North Carolina. He is also an active full member of Urban Land Institute, having served nationally on the Residential Neighborhood Development Product Council for over ten years.

Outside the office, Grayson enjoys time with his wife Corey and their five children, exploring the outdoors particularly along the North Carolina coast, and flying airplanes as an Airline Transport Pilot.
